Which do you think is better, the show or the comic adaption?

Well, it seems like the comic is a bit more coherent than the show. Of course, depending on your point of view, that can be either good OR bad.

Having read more of the manga, I think the main distinction is that it centers on the plot, whereas the show is more about the characters. For example, the events in Episodes 7 and 13 are thrown out of the manga and it makes little difference. Also, the secondary characters (namely Shinji's classmates, as well as the other NERV personel) are given much less screen, um, "page time". As I said before, this makes the story itself make a little more sense, unfortunately, it also robs it of some emotional impact when things happen to these people (like Toji's demise)
