All hell breaks out at NERV as they learn that the second branch of NERV in the Nevada desert, America, has just vanished from the face of the Earth along with EVA-04, its newly installed experimental S2 engine, and thousands of people. A pilot is selected for the new Eva Unit 03 but the first test of the new Eva turns into a disaster as the giant bio-humanoid is possessed by an Angel and proceeds to run amok! When the combined efforts of Asuka and Rei fail to stop the berserk monster, Shinji must face it alone in Unit 01. However, will his compassion for the fellow human trapped inside the beast be his undoing? As Gendo unleashes the monstrous power of Unit 01's dummy plug, it becomes horrifyingly apparent that the Evas are far more than just machines.

One thing interesting about Anime series is that no-one seems to ever be curious as to why a 14 year old girl would be living on her own the way
that Rei is doing.
We're not told that the Fourth Child is actually
Toji,it's only hinted at throughout the ep.
The last hint is when we see him shoot hoops by himself.Since he was last seen being paged to the
Principal's office it can be assumed that he's been told of his selection.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Fifth Child turned out to be Hikari,if they had gotten around to revealing the Fifth Child.
I mean it is a bit too convenient that all the NERV children are in the same class.
