Wonderful story -- for sheer drama and excitement, one of the best ever. But the 'Annotated Sherlock Holmes' points out a glaring problem with the flashback in which Helen describes her sister's death. Julia comes stumbling out of her bedroom, hands wide and 'groping' for help...except that those same hands, when examined post-mortem, were actually clutching a candle stump and match, respectively!
