Guardian Friskit and Other Odd PIDs

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: ReBoot: Command.com: The Kitchen Sink: Guardian Friskit and Other Odd PIDs
By Merat on Monday, June 24, 2002 - 5:21 pm:

Friskit appears to have a gold and black guardian PID. Does this mean that Friskit is a Guardian (or did he just eat one?)? There are other odd PIDs to be seen around Mainframe and the Net. Ray Surfr's PID is very similar to the Motorola symbol. Mouse's PID appears to be a white triangle inside a black circle inside a white diamond. However, to the best of my knowledge, we never get a clear look at Mouse's PID.

When did this happen (I haven't seen the latest season)?

By Merat on Monday, June 24, 2002 - 6:41 pm:

The first time I noticed Frisket's Guardian PID was in "To Mend and Defend." However, it may have appeared earlier. "To Mend and Defend" is also (to my knowlede) the best view we get of Mouse's PID. Another one is the Francis McDermot(?) Binome. Hers looks like a police shield, and is silver and gold. Also, Phong has that Yin-Yang PID.

Actually, now that I think of it, we get a very good look at Mouse in "Firewall." I'll pull that DVD and look at it in a bit.

By Merat on Monday, June 24, 2002 - 9:10 pm:

Ok, in "Firewall" all that can be confirmed is that Mouse has a diamond on her belt where we usually see her PID.

Ok, I should have thought of this earlier, but... you can see an o.k. image of Mouse's PID over at http://www.Reboot.com under characters.

You can also get good looks at Frisket, Maxine, and Phong's PIDs there too.

Merat, If you look closely at one particular ep of Season 3 (I think it may be one of the last two) there's deffiently one ep where Ray Surfr's PID changes from the Motorola symbol into a small wave (ye know, sea wave) symbol.

By Merat on Tuesday, June 25, 2002 - 5:29 am:

When he gets that web-armor, right?

By SpottedKitty on Tuesday, June 25, 2002 - 1:10 pm:

Not sure, I don't think so....my memories bad at the best of times. Although I'm now pretty sure its the Season 3 ep where he and Mouse are out rounding up the Binomes etcetc when they initally decide to move everyone into the Principal office.

"The Tearing"

As this is the first episode, I will list all PIDs that I see.

Standard PID - This is the most common PID. It is black and white. The white triange is on the top as is the black circle.

Guardian PID - Bob wears this. This is a gold and black version of the standard PID. The black triange is on the top as is the gold half circle.

Phong's PID - This is a white and black Yin-Yang PID. In each half there is a small triangle of the other half's color.

Cecil - Looks like the standard PID, but is rainbow colored.

Viral PID - Similar to the Command PID, but instead of white, it is dark green.

Megabyte's Icon - Closest thing he has to a PID, it is a green stylized picture of his face. His Viral minions also have this on their chest.

Bob has standard PIDs on the ankles of his boots.

Bob's PID is in what seems to be the standard location, over his left breast.

Enzo's PID in on his hat and stays in one place even when the hat spins.

Dot's PID is on her color in the center.

Phong's PID is on his drawer.

By Merat on Tuesday, June 25, 2002 - 3:18 pm:

"Racing The Clock"

Jean-Luc the 0 Binome appears to have a guardian PID, though it is flipped so the gold triangle is on top.

There is a large standard PID on Enzo's "blank" screen.

The hoverboards that the heros ride are very similar to standard PIDs except that instead of two triangles there are two half-circles. There are two foot-pads that are flipped in regards to the colors.

The horn of Bob's car and Dot's car have the red and black "Doctor PID" as the horn.

During the rac, Enzo's PID becomes a "Command PID" on his helmet.

By Merat on Tuesday, June 25, 2002 - 3:23 pm:

"Quick and the Fed"

Viral hoverboards are identical to the hero's except that the heros' glow white on the underside, the virals glow green.

This is our first glimps of what I call the "Doctor PID." This is the same as a standard PID except that where the standard PID is white, it is red.

Command PID - This is what I have come to call the upside down standard PID. It seems that only characters who are in command of others wear this. For example, Viral commanders, Dot during season 3, and Guardians.

By SpottedKitty on Wednesday, June 26, 2002 - 2:24 pm:

Captain Capacitor appears to have a completly red PID in the ep Edge of Beyond and onwards.
You also get to see a /really/ quick glimpse of Surfr with the wave PID in Edge of Beyond.

Frisket's icon, or PID, does resemble a gold/black guardian icon, but it's really just meant to look like a metallic dog tag.

Frisket's icon doesn't appear until "To Mend and Defend", when he has to reboot into the "Malicious Corpses" game. From there on Frisket enters EVERY subsequent game with Enzo.

Frisket previously entered the "Bad Bob" game, but didn't wear an icon or reboot as any specific character.

We never see Mouse enter any game, though her icon was fixed to reformat like Enzo's, Frisket's and AndrAIa's.

Several icons change color with a double-click, whether rebooting or sinply changing "skin" (costume). Chrome Robot Bob in "When Games Collide" wears a standard Black/White instead of Guardian gold/black. Public Speaker Dot in "Identity Crisis, pt. I" wears a decorative gold/white icon instead of standard black/white.
Several other color changes occurr with rebooting into a game character.

When Dot reformats as Command Dot Com her icon appears inverted from the way she usually wears it. She keeps it that way for the rest of the series.

The "new" Enzo wears a standard icon right side up on his hat when he's created in "End Prog."
In "Daemon Rising" it appears inverted and stays that way for the rest of season 4.
