Racing the Clock

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: ReBoot: Season One: Racing the Clock

The virus Megabyte has tricked Enzo into delivering a dangerous delete command to Hexadecimal. When Bob is trapped in a high-speed racing game with the command, Dot and Enzo must save him from certain deletion.

My "nit-picks" are as numerically proceeds:
1) Enzo Matrix stopped beneath the overpass into which his sister and her race car collided. Afterwards, he is steering his own race car and drives momentarily backwards. However, the race car is driven forward now by Dot Matrix behind the wheel.
2) Exactly by what time-keeping system does the masked deletion-code bomb abide? Presumably, a nanosecond to the inhabitants of Mainframe is their equivalent of a minute to us.

I'm pretty sure this is done intentionally, as a gag.

My "nit-picks" are as numerically proceeds:
1) Not truly a "nit-pick," but what is the signature inscribed on Hack's and Slash's individual baseball mitts, which were projected so as to prevent Enzo Matrix's vid window to approach ever further toward Megabyte?
2) Not truly a "nit-pick," but what was the relevance of having a Binome identified as Jean-Luc? And did this same Binome appear in any future episodes?
3) Enzo Matrix is amicable to Megabyte, despite Megabyte's status of a virus aspiring to conquer Mainframe and the supercomputer accordingly, as well as the previous episode in which Enzo Matrix vocally expressed how extensively he loathes the virus. Furthermore, what became of Enzo Matrix's business? Apparently, this was the first and last time of which we had a glimpse of the delivery service.

The "Jean-Luc" character is a tip of the hat to Star Trek, as is the "Captain Quirk" character in "Talent Night." It's a joke, son.

Here's a nit I noticed. In the Formula 1 section of the game the sprites are wearing only a lap & shoulder seatbelt. This is wrong. In a real F1 race car you have 2 shoulder belts, a lap belt & a between the legs belt.

1) The signature inscribed on Hack's and Slash's individual baseball mitts? Slash's glove says, "Mainframe slugger". I can't read Hack's.

2) What was the relevance of having a Binome identified as Jean-Luc? And did this same Binome appear in any future episodes? Jean-Luc wears four dots, or pips, like the rank insignia of a Starfleet captain. He appears in other episodes; watch for him in the first act of "AndrAIa".

This episode works better as an introduction to the series than "The Tearing". It features all the main characters except Phong and Frisket and establishes their roles in Mainframe. Bob demonstrates mending a tear. It also presents a rather protracted "Warning: Incoming Game" cube-dropping sequence, as if to establish how important an event this is.
The Formula One race course forms a clockwise circuit. Isn't counter-clockwise the usual direction of travel for a race course?
The User lays mines to impede the non-user racers instead of having to avoid mines the game lays to challenge the User.
The fuel tanker laid across the race course deletes the User, but this doesn't end the game. The game doesn't end properly, it just collapses in on itself without damaging Mainframe or its occupants.

This may be intentional, but the sign that says that Bob is in 18th place is upside down.
